Originally built for the Marqués de Villa Magna back in the 1870s, our Wunderhouse residence can be found down a quiet, cobbled street within one of Madrid’s trendiest – and most popular – areas. Until 2014, the Vatican owned the building and most of its historical features have been left untouched. Through extensive, sympathetic renovation, Wunderhouse Madrid transformed the residence into unique student accommodation. We opened as a student residence in September 2015.
From the sweeping staircase and long corridor lined with stained glass windows to the communal areas with their high, intricately detailed ceilings, beautiful panelling and stunning tiled floors, whether you are studying or relaxing, you’ll be doing so within exceptional, historic surroundings.
In contrast, our furnishings are stylishly modern in design and the 24-hour security is reassuringly high tech: your key to the main door of the residence is your unique fingerprint and we have on-site security around the clock, day and night. At the heart of the residence, you’ll find a large open air courtyard: perfect for studying, socialising and eating meals with other residents. Our terraces also have plenty of deckchairs if you wish to do some quiet reading in the sunshine.
The residence has 5 kitchenettes in the whole building in different floors. Around 10 students per kitchenette sharing. Desirable and useful features wifi, common area, en-suite and facilities gym, yoga of our building or location Chueca.
